Doug Ramsey thought he was an ordinary kid, until his best friend's fellow students at Xaiver's School for Gifted Youngsters needed him to translate the talk of a technoganic alien. Turns out he was a mutant.
Being one very nearly killed him. The bullet just missed his heart, and only a transfer of life energy from his best friend and a healing coma saved his life.
